Price groups + UOM pricing

Show every wholesale customer the right price automatically

Maintain one product catalogue, then layer prices by customer group and selling unit. Each customer link opens with the buyer's account context, so your team does not have to send and reconcile separate price-list files.

The server-side pricing path

Four decisions produce one order-line price

Orderverse resolves prices on the server. The buyer's link supplies context; it does not trust a price typed into the browser for normal group or default pricing.

  1. 01

    Identify the buyer

A customer link carries that customer's account context and assigned price group into the catalogue.

  2. 02

    Resolve the selling unit

The selected UOM—such as each, box, case or carton—determines which product price is evaluated.

  3. 03

    Find the group price

An exact group-and-UOM price wins. Otherwise, fixed UOM pricing or the group/default each price and multiplier provides the fallback.

  4. 04

    Apply an active promotion

A matching group or base promotion is considered first; an ALL promotion is the fallback for that UOM.

Fallback is deliberate: when an exact group and UOM price is absent, pricing continues through the configured fixed or dynamic UOM fallback. It does not automatically hide the product or set its price to zero.

Product evidence

Maintain group prices in a matrix built for review

Price Groups place products and UOMs in rows and customer tiers in columns. Teams can see which cells override the product price and which intentionally fall back.

Price the way you sell

A carton price does not have to be twelve each prices

Each product UOM can be dynamic or fixed. Dynamic pricing follows the base each price and multiplier; fixed pricing lets the box, case or carton carry an independent commercial price. Price groups can override either route at the UOM level.

Price snapshot

Today's price change should not rewrite yesterday's order

When an order is created, its lines store the selected UOM, resolved unit price, price source and any applied promotion details. Later product-price changes or promotion expiry affect future orders, not the stored order or invoice line.

  • Review the commercial basis of a submitted order
  • Preserve the amount sent into the invoice workflow
  • Keep promotions from changing history after they expire

What is a wholesale price group?

A price group is a reusable set of product and selling-unit prices that can be assigned to multiple customers. It lets you maintain tiers such as Hospitality or Retail without creating a separate catalogue for every buyer.

Can one product have a case price and an each price?

Yes. Prices are evaluated per product UOM. A case can use a fixed price, while another UOM can be calculated dynamically from the each price and its multiplier. A price group can also override a specific UOM.

What happens when a product price changes?

New orders use the current resolved price. Existing order lines keep the unit price and pricing evidence captured when the order was created, so a later product or promotion change does not rewrite past orders or their invoice lines.

Can a customer have no assigned price group?

Yes. A customer without an active assigned group uses product default pricing. With a group assigned, an exact group-and-UOM price wins; otherwise a fixed UOM price or the group/default each price and multiplier provides the configured fallback.

Do promotions override customer prices?

A promotion is applied after the group or default UOM price is resolved. For a grouped customer, a matching PRICE_GROUP promotion takes priority and an ALL promotion is the fallback. For an ungrouped customer, BASE takes priority and ALL is the fallback.
